This week on Dread Air we showcase some reggae favorites, all analog, on vinyl - including three “disco mix” extended singles: Gregory Isaac’s “Mr. Know It All” 12” and Culture’s “Zion Gate” followed by its DJ cut, Prince Muhammad’s “Forty Leg Dread.”
Closing the show is another extended mix, this time from the next decade, Dennis Brown’s powerful “Revolution” from 1983, produced by Sly & Robbie. We also showcase some of Lee Perry’s mid 70s Upsetter productions, “Kuchy Skank” and Junior Dread’s “A Wah Dat” and a smattering of late 70s DJ cuts by Ranking Joe and Jah Thomas, and, of course, Mikey Dread, Barrington Levy, and more!
